A beautiful stone captain’s house on the Island of Silba, in the Zadar archipelago, for sale. The house has been completely renovated in 2014. The house consists of three objects connected by common roof. The oldest part of the house, which is the largest, was built very well and of rectangular hewn stones. According to the year, carved in the stone, this house was built around 1499 and the two other buildings in the 18th century.
There house has about 200 m2 of living space, 100 m2 of Attic, a north side Veranda with 40 m2, an old cistern capacity 10 m3, south terracce on 1st floor with 14 m2, two new water cisterns with a capacity of 75 m3. There are also 2 water wells on the plot. Particularly interesting is the northern part of the house where a porch with columns of old brick was built, which makes the house look more open, and in this part, it gives it a rural character. The house is situated on a land area of 833 m2. On one side of the island, the house is from the sea 350 and the other 550 m away.
The uprising of the Maritime in Silba began in the 17th century, when man from Silba were widely known as good and experienced captains. Many homes tell the story of the well-being and the work of these sailors and traders. Today Silba counts 1200 inhabitants, that number drops in winter, and jumps up in summer. Another interesting fact is that on Silba no traffic of motor vehicles is allowed. That is why Silba is an ideal place for nice walks and family vacations. Along the coast of Silba, there is a great number of small and large beaches ideal for swimming and sunbathing for the whole family.
