Location

Ždrelac is the first place on the island of Pašman that you come to when crossing the bridge connecting it with the island of Ugljan. The village has a little over 300 inhabitants, and it got its name from the Ždrelac sea passage through which hundreds of boats pass every day on their way to the Zadar archipelago and Kornati National Park.

The economy is based on tourism, agriculture, viticulture, olive growing, and fishing. The village is adorned by beautiful beaches, from the shallow sandy Matlovac beach to the landscaped beaches of Soline and Polača, as well as the rocky slabs of Kablina. Among the cultural heritage, the Church of St. Luke from the 13th century and the chapel of St. Anthony of Padua stand out, and the traditional events “Ždreške lazi”, Ždreška fešta, and the spring Škraping are also well known.

There are restaurants, cafes, shops, and a post office in the village and its surroundings. Ferry ports are located in Tkon (connection to Biograd) and Preko (connection to Zadar), where there is also a gas station, and all other public institutions and facilities for everyday life are available on the island.
