National Park Krka

National Park Krka, one of the most visited Croatian national parks, is known for its many of lakes and waterfalls and it covers an area of 109 km2. It is named after the river Krka, which has seven travertine waterfalls: Bilušića buk, Brljan, Manojlovac, Rošnjak, Miljacka slap, Roški slap and Skradinski buk. The largest and richest waterfall on the Krka is Skradinski buk, which is indispensable in sightseeing the park. The national park abounds in educational trails, beautiful lookouts and numerous monuments of former architecture, such as renovated water mills where the visitors can enjoy the presentation of old crafts.
Above Roški slap there is another attractive prehistoric locality – Oziđana peć with an archaeological collection of traces of human presence.

On the island of Visovac, in the middle of the lake of the same name, there is a monastery and a church which are an unavoidable point of visiting the national park. A valuable collection of books and artworks is kept here.
National Park Krka abounds in beauty in an unchanged area of natural values and preserved ecosystems. The basic phenomenon of the park are the travertine waterfalls of the river Krka, the karst landscape and the diverse flora and fauna.
