What makes National Park Paklenica most recognizable are the indigenous black pine forests, beech forests and deep canyons with streams. It is interesting to mention that the name Paklenica comes from the black pine resin “pakline“, formerly used as a medicine.
Because of its location and attractive peaks, Paklenica is a famous alpine tourist center as well as a European climbing center. The largest Croatian rock Anića kuk at 712 meters, also located on Paklenica, is a favorite destination of climbers.

Through hiking trails more then 150 kilometers, you will best experience all the beauties of Paklenica, which attracts more than 100 thousand visitors every year, mostly in the period from early spring to late autumn.
