Murvica
Murvica is a typical Dalmatian village located in the municipality of Poličnik, within Zadar County. This idyllic place is located 7 minutes’ drive from the major tourist destination of Zadar, and less than 15 minutes’ drive to Zadar Airport.
During the Middle Ages this place belonged to Zadar nobles and citizens, and during the Venetian-Ottoman wars it was also considered part of the border with Turkish possessions. However, at that time the place was not called Murvica, but was named after the medieval parish church of St. Sofia, while the name Murvica has been found in records only since the year 1440.
Considering all the facilities available, Murvica is a great place for everyday life because it has a primary school, markets, a general medicine practice, a dental medicine practice, large stores with a miscellaneous content, a gas station, garden centers, family farms, taverns and restaurants with a wide gastronomic offer and authentic flavors of this region, a local ranch with the Zadar equestrian club and many other.

Due to its proximity to the city of Zadar, Murvica has easy access to the entertainment content of this great city, as well as its rich cultural and historical offer, and also to the countless opportunities for excursions and opportunities to visit the islands of the Zadar archipelago, which has about 300 islands surrounded by the beautiful and clean Adriatic Sea. . According to the last available census from 2021, the place of Murvica has 855 inhabitants in a little more than 14 square kilometers. Before the territorial reorganization in Croatia, Murvica belonged to the old municipality of Zadar.
