Novigrad
Novigrad is a small fishing and tourist place on the northwestern coast of Croatia, near Zadar. This charming place is located in a deep bay by the mouth of the river Zrmanja, which flows into the Novigrad Sea.
The municipality of Novigrad is settled in the northeastern part of Zadar County, and consists of a total of three places, Novigrad, Pridraga and Paljuva, with which it goes to the Karin and Novigrad seas.
This coastal town offers many natural beauties such as beautiful beaches, untouched nature, and crystal clear blue sea.
Novigrad is a historical place with a rich cultural heritage dating back to Roman times. The name itself comes from the Roman tower rebuilt in the 13th century, which was called Castrum Novum, which means New Town. The Novigrad fortress was built in the time of the Venetians and is located on a cliff above the town. From this place there is a beautiful view of the landscape with the crystal clear blue sea, and inside the walls of the fortress you can see the entire castle.
Active holiday lovers can find various activities near Novigrad, so they can enjoy rafting and kayaking down the Zrmanja river, bungee jumping from the popular Maslenica Bridge or hiking in the Paklenica National Park.

Novigrad is located 33 km northeast of Zadar, and 23 km north of the airport. The proximity of the major tourist destination, the city of Zadar, offers various opportunities for excursions and getting to know the Zadar archipelago with more than 300 islands along the Zadar coast. It is also possible to explore the rich cultural heritage and museums in Zadar. Moreover, this city is also a rich source of entertainment and nightlife. Novigrad has about 550 inhabitants, and the whole municipality has about 2,300 inhabitants according to the 2011 census.
