Pridraga
Pridraga is a small place in the municipality of Novigrad, east of Zadar. This beautiful and tourist-famous place is located on the coast of the Karin and Novigrad seas.
This place is more and more famous for tourism due to the several beautiful pebble beaches and coves with crystal blue sea that adorn it and make it popular for many visitors.
It is 36 km away from Zadar and 7 km away from Novigrad. Pridraga is a 13-minute drive from the nearest highway toll station. According to the 2021 census, this place has a total of 1346 inhabitants.
The population of Pridraga is mostly engaged in agriculture, i.e. growing vines, olives and similar plants.
Pridraga has a long history, as evidenced by the church of St. Martin, the patron of the place, which dates back to the 5th or 6th century. This church was built from the main nave as well as three apses and forms the shape of a cross. It was largely damaged and set on fire during the shelling of Pridraga when the Croatian War of Indepedence was, back in 1991. This church was renovated twice to be in its present form.
