Rector’s Palace

Rector’s Palace

According to historical sources, the Rector’s Palace with the walled structures of the Romanesque and Gothic structures of the Middle Ages dates back to the 13th century. Although it is being destroyed in the war, but thanks to the Zadar architects, the renovation of it is coming to an end. The architectural idea was to make spaces look like cages that build space within the space.

Also, exhibition pontoons are connected by wooden bridges and tunnels.
Thus, the Rector’s Palace is now one of the most attractive locations in the city where numerous exhibitions, theatrical performances, an international film festival, celebrate anniversaries and there are organized various receptions. This is definitely a place that tourists visit and many of them come specifically to one of the many events that take place here.

Modernly renovated Rector´s Palace became during its first year of work a must-see-place in Zadar and won the annual Croatian tourist award in the category of cultural attractions in 2017.
