The place of Sveti Filip i Jakov is located 25 km southeast of Zadar, on the slopes of the Pašman Channel. The center of the municipality has the same name, with a population of about 4,600. It is only 5 km away from the other major city and the traffic center of Biograd na Moru.

In the center of the place are several shops, restaurants, bars, pharmacies, and several hotels and campsites by the sea. Today, Sveti Filip i Jakov is a popular tourist destination and attracts visitors with its beautiful nature and beaches, as well as its rich gastronomic offer in numerous restaurants and taverns. In addition to tourism, the inhabitants of this place are traditionally engaged in agriculture and fishing, so its visitors can easily get fresh homemade and locally produced food.

The most famous beach in this place is the beach Iza Banja, and it extends almost all along the place. The beach Iza Banja is made of stone, sand and pebble, there are diving and surfing centers, as well as several bars, so everyone can find something for themselves. Along the Beach Croatia is a well-maintained promenade that connects this place with the neighboring town of Turanj. Active vacation lovers can find in Sv. Filip i Jakov various sports facilities at their disposal: tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, sailing and windsurfing and cycling trails around Sveti Filip i Jakov. This place is also known for its water polo club “Gusar”, which has been operating for many years, and in the summer water polo tournaments are organized in the village, with numerous clubs participating.

It is also known for the former summer residences of Zadar noble families, the most famous is of the Borelli family.
